Presenter 13 error when exporting translation document

Jan 03, 2017

I can't seem to export the translation document for a project located in my local drive. I made sure that no Office apps are opened except for the PPT one on my project and I also renamed the document into simply "a".

I tried rebooting as well but no luck. Help? I'm getting the blank error message by the way (attached).

Hello Calvin,

It looks like I just responded to your similar question over here. Thank you for confirming that you're working locally, since that is one of the first things we would want to verify. Would you be able to create an Articulate Presenter package to share with us here? That way we'll be able to look at what occurs when going through the export process. Can you also confirm that you're following the steps here to export for translation?

Ok so here's what happened. I had 10 files to export the translation document.

  • A couple I was able to export without any problems even when filename has underscores on it.
  • Some, I have to publish first before exporting the translation document.
  • Some, I don't need to publish but I have change the filename into simpler ones like 'dec' or 'sess'. But it doesn't work all the time if I'm to reuse those names into other projects.
  • Sometimes, publishing won't work so I had to try different names when saving until I find one that works for that particular project.

It's a weird ass bug and I can't pinpoint the culprit but I was able to get through all files through different trial and error.

Only thing I can't get to work is a Translation Export for a particular project in Quizmaker '13. I tried publishing in different formats before doing the export, tried all sorts of naming combinations but didn't work. I just gave up and exported the regular Word document instead.

Thanks for that information. It sounds like you've tried all kinds of troubleshooting on your own, and I'm glad to hear you were finally able to get through all of the files. At this point, I would suggest that you connect with one of our Support Engineers directly to troubleshoot the final Quizmaker '13 file issue. They're available 24/7 and will work with you one-on-one to investigate this further.
