Presenter 13: published html audio is absent when played in Canvas LMS

Aug 27, 2020

I uploaded a zipped "presenter.output" into the Univ. of FL Canvas eLearning site.  I can open the presentation.html file in that site, it loads on screen with all slides intact, everything looks as expected They seem to play well but there is NO AUDIO!

Also, everything works fine when playing locally from the extracted zipped file. I've tried multiple times with different browsers.

What is the solution? I have many of these type lectures to upload.

Btw, local IT suggested I try from another server. When opened from another server, the presentation has audio but it has VERY LOW VOLUME.

(I'll try uploading the zip file along with this)

Hi James,

Thanks for sharing your file! It looks like you may need to review your publish settings, as I don't see the expected output files for an LMS. When I opened your zipped folder, I saw these files:

If I publish a Presenter course using the LMS option, I see this:

As you can see, I'm able to locate the index_lms.html file that I would use to point to when running the course in an LMS.

If your LMS requires that you identify a single launch file after you've uploaded your content, the file to point to is index_lms.html for SCORM/AICC content or presentation.html for Tin Can API content.

You can read about publishing a Presenter 13' file to an LMS below!

Let me know if this resolves it for you!

Thanks Ren Gomez, I appreciate your responding.

I shouldn't have typed LMS when I described the problem.

All I am doing is uploading my zipped file into the eLearning "Canvas" that UF uses for online classes.
It get unzipped and I have access to the presentation.html file. When I open it, the slides all work except for the audio does not play. I have looked in the content folder and can play the MP3 files directly.

So, I would really like to know if this combo works for anyone or if I am doing something wrong.

Hi James,

Thanks for the clarification, and apologies for the misunderstanding! I uploaded your file to Articulate Tempshare to do a quick test, and it sounded good to me. You can review it here:

If you'd like to adjust the audio, you can do a couple of things:

1. Adjust the volume of the audio in each slide by following the steps in this user guide.

2. Adjust the audio quality when publishing. (Optimizing Audio Volume is only in Studio 360)

Hopefully this helps with the audio issues you're running into. Our support team would also be happy to lend a hand for additional testing if needed. You can always reach out to them 24/7 at articulatecase.com!
