Presenter 13: Trigger Exit animations when clicking the Next button

Nov 25, 2016

Hi!

Is there a way to run Power Point exit animations when Articulate's Player Next button is clicked, then change the presentation to the next slide automatically?

I haven't been able to find an option to do so. I'd like to have Power Point entry and exit animations on the same slide. At present, Presenter 13 plays all animations (entry and exit) then waits for the user to click the next button.

I hope someone can help me to achieve this behavior. THANKS

It's a shame it's not a built in feature... Maybe in a future version? That'd be great.

I'll post a procedure of what I did, maybe it will be useful to someone. I'm using Power Point 2013.

POWER POINT

  1. All my slides already include entry and exit animations. So duplicate all slides in Power Point. One contains the entry animations and the other just the exit ones.
  2. Transitions Tab => Timing section => Advance Slide: Select "On Mouse Click", Deselect "After". This has to be done for every odd slide. This means the way to move forward has to be done by user interaction,
  3. Transitions Tab => Timing section => Advance Slide: Deselect "On Mouse Click", Select "After". This has to be done for every even slide. This is the exact opposite. This means the way to move forward is done automatically after X seconds. This is done to move to the next slide as soon as the last exit animation ends.
  4. On every odd slide, make sure the first animation to be played is set to Start: With Previous, and Delay is set to 0 seconds. This will make the animations play asa soon as the slide is loaded.

ARTICULATE

  1. In Slide Properties, every odd slide has to have Navigation: free (unlocked lock) and Advance: By user.
  2. In Slide Properties, every even slide has to have Navigation: locked (locked lock) and Advance: Auto. These Articulate options together with the Power Point options will make the presentation to stop as soon as the last entry animation is played. Then when the user clicks the next button, the exit animations will play and advance to the next slide when done. At the same time, the user cannot move forward or backward when the exit animations are being played.
  3. In Slide Properties, every odd slide needs it's Prev Branching to be adjusted. The branching selected must be the first of the duplicated slides from the previous pair, so when the user clicks back, the slide loaded is the one that has the entry animations.
  4. Finally, in Slide Properties => Edit Menu... the duplicated slides will appear. Every even slide has to be hidden with the "Remove from Menu" button (the eye button at the bottom left corner)

There is work to be done to accomplish this behavior but it can be done like this. I hope someone finds this helpful. Greetings!
