Presenter '13 won't "upgrade" PPT file that was created with Presenter '13

Sep 14, 2016

Hi,

I purchased Presenter '13 a while ago. Last week I created 4 PPT decks, didn't do anything to them using Presenter. Today when I click on "record narration" - first time I've done anything with them using the Articulate ribbon - I get the error message: "Your Articulate Presenter project cannot be upgraded to the new Articulate Presenter '13 file format."

But these were only created while using '13.

I saw this support article but it only references files created with '5 or '09. https://www.articulate.com/support/presenter-13/project-cannot-be-upgraded-to-the-new-file-format

I did try moving the PPT deck to its own folder, didn't help. There are no Articulate files created associated with these decks.

Please let me know how to work with these decks and how to avoid this problem in the future.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael- There was an issue that this sounds familiar to that was fixed in an update for Studio '13. Could you verify that you're on the latest update to Studio '13, Update 8? You can check by going to Help and Support > About Articulate Presenter in the Articulate ribbon in Presenter. Could you also confirm if you're working locally or from a network? Thanks!

Hi Michael- Thanks for the additional details. Since this is happening across multiple files, I would recommend running a repair on your software to fix this erratic behavior.

If you're still encountering this after the repair or if you run into any difficulties, I'd suggest reaching out to our Support Engineers directly by way of this form. They'll be able to work with you to investigate further so this doesn't continue to happen. If you end up going this route, let me know the case number here and I'll be happy to follow along and relay any relevant info here for others who may find it helpful. :)
