Presenter and clicking sound when recording on a Mac

Mar 10, 2018

Does anyone else who uses Presenter 360 (or Presenter 13, which also had this problem) running on Parallels on a Mac have this problem? Whenever I record a slide after launching the Narration from the Powerpoint ribbon or after making an edit to slide notes text in the Narration window, I get a clicking sound right at the beginning (within the first second) of the narration? If I record the slide a second time, the clicking does not occur.

There are workarounds, such as not narrating in the above situations, and just starting a second time, or editing out the click using the audio editor. But I would prefer to not have to do these workarounds.

Hi William,

I'm using VMWare on my Mac with Presenter 360, but I didn't hear this odd clicking sound you mentioned. Do you think it's picking up your actual click of the button to record? Are you recording through a microphone or just the built in mic/speakers of your computer?

I'm happy to try it again and would want to be testing as close to your set up.

Thanks Ashley. The sound comes about a quarter-second after I start recording. It only comes when I first record, or when I make any edits in the slide notes and then record. I use Parallels 11 and Presenter 360, although it used to happen with Presenter 13. I use the built-in microphone on my Mac. See the bottom of the window in the attached screen shot.
