Presenter area in Player

Dec 18, 2013

I was wondering if there is a way to have a video play continuously in the presenter section (instead of a static image) of the player while the slides advance.  Essentially have the slides advance as the video talks to that particular portion of the presentation.  Please let me know... As always, thanks for your help.

Hi Terry!

Are you using Studio '09 or '13?

If you're using Studio '13, you can add a video to the Presenter panel:

Adding a Presenter Panel Video

Now, Presenter panel videos are synchronized with the slide, not with the entire project. I don't believe it would be possible to have the slides advance depending on the video itself. You could, however, try using the auto advance option for the slide itself.

Hi Christine,

Thank you for the reply.  I did find a post somewhere showing that you can add a .swf to the LOGO panel and it will play continuously for the presentation.  You have to play your video independently and "record narration" and manually sync it up.  I  have been experimenting with that, but I do not like the video quality.

Hi Terry,

Ahhh - that sounds like a great option, but I believe the SWF file scales, correct? That might be what's causing the quality to drop.

If the quality is lower in preview, that may be the case. If it's after publishing, you might be able to improve the quality by adjusting the output quality in the publishing dialog.

Mainly just thinking out loud - in text - here :)

Curious to hear if you're able to get this working on your end. Sounds like a great option if the quality can be improved.

Thanks!
