Presenter cannot save, the project file locks up and I have to "save as" another name and reboot then rename it back.

This happens every session, at some point the powerpoint will be unable to save and I will have to go through this process.  I have an SSD drive and I've run disk utilities, can't tell what's going on.

Yes, on my SSD (two partition) C drive.  Some of the issue maybe background indexing processes like X1 (which I now disable) and Carbonite backup (which I also, now, disable).

This seems to take care of the problem most of the time.  I still have other problems where PowerPoint just locks up... I tried to click and get nothing but ding ding. and have to terminate the application.  This usually happens when I open a second file without closing the first. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. Thanks.

I am still looking for solution to this program, it came back to bite me this past week with that Flash disaster regarding the update to Flash 19 that microsoft pushed that broke my powerpoint.  Thanks to your suggestions and others (like the iSpring tool) in that other thread Leslie I was able to get it back together again.

But I realized that I didn't have adequate bcakups in the Carbonite cloud because I'm always disabling Carbonite so that it doesn't freeze my powerpoint.  When carbonite is turned off, I dno't have any problems saving my presenter file... but when I forget to disable carbonite, as soon as it gets its hooks into the file, I can no longer save the powerpoint... and I have to do a save-as.  Do a reboot. LOad the save-as'd file and then save-as the original filename.  Hundred and hundreds of times since my original post 10 months ago.  So there's got to be a better way?

Any ideas Leslie, or others?
