I have a client who wants me to have a resources tab and a help tab at the top. I see a attachments and bookmark tabs, can I change these names?
Also in resources she wants the 6 links that were in 2 powerpoint slides in the tab. I thought I could list them in text (Word doc?) and hyperlink to the text or should I convert the slides to something else and hyperlink to them? Any suggestions would be appreciated?
Ok, question. She has the 2 slides already made with the links on them. If I just put the slides in a new resources tab, then one would have to copy and paste that link into a browser to get to the website or file. I'm not sure if that would work for her?
If I add active hyperlinks to the slides, would they work or do I have to make the Powerpoint slides into something else a document or jpeg and then create hyperlinks?
If you import the slides into storyline then they should maintain the links and clicking on the link would open a new browser window. You could then lightbox that slide
Right, thanks Bruce, I was just going to mention that. So if I put the slides into resources, 1. can I do that because if clicked that would open another Powerpoint, 2. would the links work or do I have to hyperlink them, or 3. if I made them jpegs and embedded the hyperlinks would that be easiest?
Bruce, this is the reason why i dont go on many Stag nights!
Sorry Gregory, ignore all my previous comments.
You should however be able to add links to slides on the top under player templates. You will not be able to lightbox a slide but you could add a link to that specific slide. It is also easy to add those slides to your project and show them.
Right, She doesn't want to show them but put them in a resources tab at the top. So create tab in templates then put in 2 Powerpoint slides (how) and add hyperlinks as usual?
That is great. I used the second choice and used a FAQ interaction with hperlinks to the resources but being able to change the names of the tabs is also helpful. Thanks a lot.

You cannot change the names, but you can add more tabs. You could add a lightbox slide and build a menu or help section on that slide.
With your ppt slides you could again import them and add them as lightbox slides just build one slide with a list of links and then lightbox to it
Hi Phil,
So I could just remove the attachments tab and add 2 new tabs? Is that in player templates?
What are lightbox slides? I've never heard of them?
Thanks Greg
A light box slide, is a trigger you can add to a button or the player to show a slide in a lightbox.
You can add or remove items from the player in the player button in story view

Thanks Again Phil

Phil - this is a Presenter query, not Storyline, so use of "Triggers" and "Lightboxes" may not be appropriate!

OK I found the info. I will need to create simple Engage interactions which you can publish as a tab. Thanks Greg
Gregory,
You should be able to change the "Attachment" label tab in Presenter to any other name you'd like. See the tutoral at this link:
http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/changing-your-player-s-text-labels.aspx
Also, here are instructions on how to publish an engage interaction as a tab on the top of the Presenter player:

Hope this helps,
Melanie
Melanie has some good advice, i have not used Studio for about six months now!
