Presenter is dead . . .

Nov 29, 2013

After downloading that "fix" presenter is inoperative.

Now what?

I have the same problem, maybe you can try these solutions.

If Articulate Studio '13 isn't working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem. Here's how:

Reboot your machine afterwards and see if this resolves the issue.

you can  try the solution below as well.

Thanks for the assist.

I used the repair/reinstall feature and the application became usable again.

But what happened to the "update" that wrecked the application? I assume there were some issues it addressed, but if the "cure" is worse than the "affliction",  it isn't any solution.

This episode resulted in losing an entire day and I don't intend to accept any further updates to the application unless there is some sort of assurance from Articulate that it actually accomplishes what is intended. And I'm still not convinced that I should persist with Studio 13 . . . .

Hi there Pete,

That's excellent - I'm happy to hear that the solution Tatiana shared resolved the issue :) Thanks for the update!

There's so way for us to pinpoint what caused the issue with the update on your machine with the information we have. The intent of the update is to improve issues that are known, these are provided for free and are certainly not required downloads.

However, it's always suggested that you use the most recent version of the software, just to ensure that your installation is up to date. There's no way for us, or any software company, to guarantee that there won't be a snag when updating or even running a program. Though obviously it would be best if nothing goes wrong, but if something does happen we will try our best to assist you.

I do understand that you lost quite a bit of time as a result, and for that I do apologize. I certainly hope that everything's running properly for you now. If you have any other issues, please let us know.

Have a great day!

I had similar issues and it may be that you need MS Visual Basic in your version of PPT, Now...it doesn't end there. I did that 3 times, and uninstalled Presenter 13 twice. The last time, as SOON as I installed A13, I re-installed MS Visual basic again. Make sure you do NOTHING else in between those two steps. Finally, after 4 hours of installs and uninstalls, Articulate would open and publish in PPT 2010. Makes no sense to me.

Hope this helps.

Jim
