Presenter locks up
Dec 10, 2013
I am using Powerpoint 2010 with Articulate Presenter 13 on Windows 7.
I started working on a project yesterday, and everything went really well for most of the day. Toward the end of the day, Presenter started locking up. It locks up after I perform any ONE action from the Articulate ribbon. I have to close and reopen the project. I have tried more than one presentation, and this happens every time. I have tried uninstalling and installing, that didn't work. What's going on?

Hi Sara and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
Sorry to hear about the trouble! If you haven't already, you may want to try restarting your machine. I know it sounds a little silly, but this can sometimes clear up issues with newly installed software.
Please try the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article:
The Articulate Tab on the PowerPoint Ribbon Is Missing
(This should also resolve an unresponsive Articulate Ribbon - hopefully that'll help with the issue you're running into when using one of the menu items)
Also, please make sure that you're working with local project files:
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
I know you mentioned that you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it might be a good idea to make sure you're following the steps outlined in the two following articles (if you're still having trouble at this point).
Please try repairing Studio '13:

If you're still experiencing these issues, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

Let me know if you try all of those suggestions and still have trouble.
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions. I have most of them. I am currently working on the Unexpected or Erratic Behavior in Articulate Studio. I just have to reinstall Office. Crossing my fingers
Good luck, Sara - I hope it goes well!
Let me know if you see any improvement.
Thanks!
This is so frustrating. After all of that, I'm still having the issue! I even tried with a brand new blank powerpoint
Hi Sara,
Shoot, sorry to hear that.
You're running Studio '13, on Windows 7 with Office 2010, correct? What installation type of Office are you using, the 32-bit or 64-bit?
If you're using the 32-bit, you should be OK with the installation type.
If you're using the 64-bit installation of Office, that might be causing the trouble. Currently, Articulate Studio '13 supports 32-bit versions of Microsoft Office, but not 64-bit versions. See this article for details:
