If you'd like, I'd suggest sending us your files so we can take a closer look. Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:
Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!
I've uploaded the package for review. I'd appreciate any feedback. It appears the last few courses I've built based on this source have the same problem, so this bug is in post-beta for a few clients.
Is it possible to purchase support to escalate this problem?
Not sure if you've already received the support here, but one thing you may want to be sure of is that you published with the Western character set. You can find these under Articulate > Presentation Options > Publish:
Generally, a non-Western character publish set would be used for various non-Western languages. It seems that using the non-Western selection for publishing Western languages results in the buggy behavior you experienced. Sorry I can't offer you a more technical explanation.

Thanks, Sam.
Did you get a case number so I can follow through on it for you?
And if you're interested, you can purchase a live conference.

Peter,
Your suggestion worked. I've no idea how/why/when that parameter changed to non-western.
Thanks.
Sam
Glad to hear that did it!
When would a non-Western character set be used and why would it put "outline" and "note" on the screen?
