Presenter stops publishing halfway through

Jul 11, 2012

I've been trying to publish an elearning module and it just stops publishing about half way through and all the presenter boxes disappear and it just goes back to the powerpoint.

Please can you suggest why this might be happening as it is only on this one module out of 14.

Thanks

Jo

Here's some things I try when this happens. It's pretty much just poking around till it works. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason.

Check to make sure you have only one instance of PowerPoint running. Use the Task Manager and look under the Processes tab for "POWERPNT.EXT" select each instance and select "End Process." after ending all copies, re-open course and try again.

Did that work? Yes - Yay! No - see next.

In the publish window, select a different template before publishing. Sometimes I have problems with courses I receive when using the "in project" template. I usually click the ellipses button next to the Template item, do a Save As..., rename the template, and choose the newly saved one back in the publish window. Also gives me a chance to review the publish settings.

Create a 1 slide course and publish. Does that work?

Yes - see next. No- maybe re-installing Articulate would work.

Keep an eye on the slide it keeps crashing on. Save a new copy of the course and delete that slide and republish. Does it crash again? Yes - see next. No, maybe rebuilding that slide would work. If still crashing, see next.

Delete the slide after the one that is is noted as on when the publishing stops. Republish

Does it crash? Yes - see next. No - rebuild that slide as well and republish. if still crashing see next.

open the current PPT file, select and copy all slides. Open a new PPT file and paste. Republish.

Hope one of these helps!
