Presenter Wont Play
Apr 07, 2011
I just published the presenter to the web and It does not work. I am using a Go daddy Server. All that pops us is the template. It is completely blank, no files are loading. The front page doesn't load, and none of the slides even show on the left hand side. Its a linux platform. I told Go Daddy its something on there end but there not convinced.
I am able to play the exact same files on both a Windows AND a Linux server of my own. However, When I upload it to a Go Daddy server it does not work. Here is what happens. http://thecomputertech.com/1/introduction/player.html
HELP PLEASE!!!! Ive spent hours on this today, and I don't know whats wrong. Here is the same exact one working properly on my own linux server. med.gwrra.org/1/introduction/player.html
Quizmaker functions properly on the Go daddy servers.

Hi Michael- welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
This probably has to do with how the XML files are being uploaded to your GoDaddy server:
Content works locally, but doesn’t load on a web server
Or if you're using the same method (third-party FTP app or build-in Presenter FTP?), GoDaddy may be delivering the XML files as ASCII instead of binary.
Gabe, YOU ARE A GENIOUS! I've been struggling with the same issue as Michael Fitzpatrick was for a long while. I knew there had to be a way to post an Articulate course to my website, but it would not launch the files correctly. I got the same thing as Michael: A blank Articulate template with no content, and SLIDE 100 of 160 PRESENTATION COMPLETE displaying in the seekbar.
I use FileZilla, and the xml is apparently uploaded as ASCII instead of Binary, by default. I changed it in the FileZilla settings, as your Knowledge Article indicated, and VOILA!!! Things are working as they should!

This does solve the problem! Also, You can use the FTP through the Articulate program which also works.
WARNING! Even though this works I noticed every couple of days the content would stop working and I would have to reload it. GoDaddy moves your content around there servers and they dont move it using Binary all the time. I called them and asked them and they put me on a "SCUZY" server. So if my content ever moves it moves using the correct language. I told them It has to be moved using Binary, they got an advanced tech on the line and i have never had a problem since!
Thanks for the additional info, Michael. The devil is in the details, for sure!
Thanks for the very kind words, Jill! Glad to hear you and Michael are both all set here.
