Preview/Publish Add a Text Box Randomly and Show Blank Screen

Apr 16, 2013

So I have this course. Slide 1 has a background on the slide master. Articulate doesn't display subscript correctly so I make the SM text into its own text box and place it next to the text that needs the SM.

Regardless of whether I put  the SM text box on the slide or the master, Articulate makes a copy of that SM text box, puts it on the screen somewhere else (so there's the one I put on and the one articulate added) and it displays a blank screen. It doesn't show the image that's on the slide.

I have seen this before on several other courses. I've already rebooted, reinstalled articulate, reapplied the patch, deleted the .ppta.

What else can I do?

Hi Holly,

Are you using Office 2010, by any chance? If so, superscript and subscript text may not appear as expected in your published presentation.

This is a known issue.  You can work around it by grouping the affected text box with another object on the slide.  Here's how:

  1. Select the text box that contains the superscript or subscript text.
  2. Press and hold the CTRL key, and click on another object on the slide to also select it.  (You can select an existing object, or add a new shape to the slide specifically for this purpose.)
  3. Press CTRL+G to group both objects.
  • If you do not want the additional shape to appear in your published output, you can remove the fill color and line color, or you can drag the shape off the slide.  Either method will essentially make the additional shape invisible in your published presentation.

Does that help? If not, we'd be happy to take a look at the presentation and see what's happening. Please create an Articulate Presenter package by following the steps in the following article:
