Problem accessing Presenter 13 after Jan 1 Break.

Jan 06, 2014

Hi all, trying to get into some LMS projects from 2013 and keep getting an error message stating I do not have a compatible version of PowerPoint. I run this authoring workstation on Windows Office 2007 and it has a 32 bit version with Service Pack 3 of PowerPoint. I had no problems prior to the Holiday Break but back now and in a world of hurt.

Anyone having this issue and all help is appreciated.

Thakn you,

Gordon

Hi there Gordon,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with this - hopefully the break went well, though :)

Has anything changed on the machine since the holiday break? 2007 + a 32-bit installation shouldn't cause an issue.

When do you see this error? Are you seeing it as soon as you open the presentation file, or when you try to use the ribbon, publish, etc.?

Also, are you able to open PowerPoint and create a new, blank presentation?

Thanks!

Well I made some headway but still having problems. Did a complete reinstall of Office 2007 with PowerPoint and using Service Pack 3. Also reinstalled Presenter Studio 13 too. Worked on Visual C in the program change section and now can right click or double click Presenter from the Desktop but when in PowerPoint I cannot make anything happen. All the tabs or selections highlight and open due to the reset of Visual C but that is it. Seemed like this happened way back and it was a simple setting. I am still under a deadline and client is not pleased. Any additional thoughts here. I'm concerned about the Presenter Studio 13 version I have. I cannot get my Serial Number. Quizmaker and Engage work properly on their own but that is a small bright spot in my darkness.

Thank you, Gordon

Hi Gordon,

I'm very happy to hear that you were able to make some progress here. I know it's not all resolve yet, but hopefully we can get that fixed for you too.

I would check on the addons options in PowerPoint and see if that's what's causing the issue with the ribbon.

The Articulate Tab on the PowerPoint Ribbon Is Missing

(This should also resolve an unresponsive Articulate Ribbon)

Let me know if you see any improvement after trying that out.

Thanks!
