Problem with linking presentations from Amazon s3 - Please help !
Feb 11, 2011
Hi all,
I've recently signed up for an Amazon S3 account . However, i cannot currently link my presentations from it . when i upload single files like images and pdfs, no problem, but once i upload media files like presenter files, it returns an error when i'm trying to get the url. I don't know if amazon s3 recognises nested folders.
The presentations are working perfectly well when uploaded on my regular webhost, so i know there's something i'm not doing on the AWS. Although its an Amazon issue, I was hoping that someone here can explain to me what i am doing wrong.
To cut a long story short, I'd just like to know how you upload & link courses from Amazon S3 onto a web page so that it will show on the page .
Thanks and TGIF
Yvonne

Hi Yvonne- maybe it's a permission issue on Amazon S3? You need to give read permissions to the Everyone group for all the files and folders.

I upload all of my presentations to S3 and they work fine. I'm with Gabe, most likely it's a permissions issue.
Thanks Gabe and Tom,
will try the permissions now .

Any luck, Yvonne? That do the trick?
Hi Gabe,
Sorry about the silence ( lost in my own little world as usual).
Yes it is working, and it was a permissions issue like you and Tom guessed.
Thank You, and have a great weekend
