Problems Uploading to Moodle

May 07, 2012

Hi Heroes,

I've been creating a large elearning course for a client who is testing a partially finished version on their Moodle system.  I know nothing about Moodle.

They had a problem viewing it on Moodle, their IT people asked me to use this fix. Normal 0 false false false oNotPromoteQF /> EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=1022 which I did.

Now they are telling me that it uploads to Moodle without any trouble, but it won't launch the presentation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Linda

It depends on the version of moodle they are using that fix will work in 1.9.x, but it really isnt needed in Moodle 2.

This shouldnt be stopping the course loading, a quick way to show this is give them a version without the fix installed.  if that works it is what they are doing.

There are a few reason why it wont work and these are mainly on the machine trying to view the content.

Soimple things like disabling popup blockers and enabling javascript should be done first.  It also helps to set the site as a trusted site.

Do they get any errors, it may be good if they could switch on debugging for moodle and also debugging for the scorm.

Thanks Phil,

They have version 1.9.5, I gave them a version without the fix before; they said it launched, but were having viewing problems which is why their people asked me to run it again with the bug fix.

This is what they are getting:

Normal 0 false false false oNotPromoteQF /> EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}

There is no error message that appearson the page, but at the bottom left corner of the internet window there is ayellow triangle with a ‘!’, when you click on that and open it, it reads:

Sounds like they have a javascript error.  can they retry your old package I wouldnt be suprised if that gets the same error now.  Also 1.9.5 is really old, I have never used that version with Scorm I really think they need to upgrade.  Moodles own pages reccommend using 1.9.12 or above if you want to use scorm
