Problems with sync animation timing
May 16, 2012

I am clicking on sync animations and then when I click to start the sync the first animation appears of its own accord before I have clicked anything.
All of my animations are set to 'on click'.
I have also removed all animations and put them back in and I still have the same problem.
I have tried ignoring what I see on screen and just clicking when I hear the right audio, but this doesn't work either as when I preview the slide in articulate it isn't sync'd at all. It just plays when it pleases.
I have not had this problem with any other powerpoint presentation, only this one. Which makes me think it is some setting in powerpoint.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Alison

Hi Allison!
Would you like to send us your files so we can take a closer look and help figure out what's going on? If so, please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:
Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help
Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!
Thanks for your help Peter. I have uploaded my file. Sorry, I'm not sure where I will find my case number?

I have just been given the case number, it is:

Thanks for your help.
Hi Alison!
Thanks for sending the case number. Curious to know if the solution Gren suggested did the trick for you. Good luck!
Indeed it did work! Although I have another query.
When I upload audio into my presentations I feel it loses quality of sound. The files I am using are mp3 files. I find that it sounds quite 'tinny' and can sometimes vary in volume weirdly. The original files don't sound like this. Do you have any tips?
Thanks
Hey Alison!
Glad to hear it For the audio issue, you can try doing the following:
I am also having problems with syncing my animations to my audio. I click "sync animations" and then when I click to start the sync the first animation appears of its own accord before I have clicked anything. All of my animations are set to 'on click'.
I have tried ignoring what I see on screen and just clicking when I hear the right audio, but this doesn't work either as when I preview the slide in articulate it isn't sync'd at all. It just plays when it pleases.
I have not had this problem with any other powerpoint presentation, only this one, but just upgraded to Ppt 2010 - could that t=be the problem?
Can anyone help? I need to get this course published today!
That's great thanks, I will try that for the audio.
Do you have any tips on dotted lines which look straight in powerpoint but then are slightly broken/ wonky when published to articulate?
Deb, please see this http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=ap9&id=pcap37fysupf
it helped me!
Give this a shot for the wonky lines, Alison. Not sure if that's exactly it, so let me know if not.
It seems to duplicate the line when I use this, but I will keep trying.
Do you know why my presentation may only be publishing the first slide?
So I am publishing the presentation to a zip file to extract files and view in web browser but although i can see on the timer and on the slide counter that the other slides are there, it will only show first slide. When it goes to second slide the screen turns black and nothing happens?
Thanks
Alison
Hmm, I'd recommend re-opening your original case (00278819) with Gren to see if she can replicate the issue with your publish. Let me know when you do, and I'll keep an eye on it so I can follow up with you here. Thanks!
