Publish Options - Timing Slides without Audio

Sep 11, 2018

Hi - Is it possible in Articulate 13 to change the duration that a user has to sit on a slide without audio so that one slide might be 5 seconds but another with more text to read has to be 15 seconds? When I've changed the publish options it seems to change for all slides?

Thanks

Hi Rebecca,

The duration of each slide is controlled by its audio, video, and/or animations.

Slides that don't include any audio, video, or animations default to the number of seconds specified in Presenter Options

With that in mind, perhaps you could add some animations to the slide to help with adjusting the timing?

I think the easiest way is to simply use a "silent" audio file. I've attached such a file, at 5 seconds in length. This matches the default length in Presenter.

Import this file into the slides in your file that you want to increase the screen time. Then, in Audio Editor, click anywhere in the silent sound file. Then click on "Add Silence."  Need 15 seconds for the screen? Add 10 seconds of silence. That, plus the five already there, get's it done.

You can add any amount of time you need by inserting silence within the silent audio file.
