I want to publish a module to my own website. I can insert html or video code etc. quite easily there.
The purpose is to showcase some work for clients, so it must look luike it is playing in the player, but run on my ordinary website. (I have looked at scormcloud, but that does not look like my answer.)
I have been reading through all related conversations regarding publishing AP to a regular website. Our organization does not allow iframes, so I am thinking the testpage.html file is the best option. So I get as far as publishing my presentation "to Web", I then copy the testpage.html file into the same folder as the player.html file. Do I then zip the file, upload it onto my website (not using FTP), and then do I just then hyperlink a jpeg or text on my webpage to the player.html file or the testpage.html file? Apologies, I have been trying to do this for the last 2 weeks, trying all sorts of suggestions but have been unsuccessful. I have been publishing my AP presentations to our Sharepoint site (works great - this was for internal training), then management wanted to share some of the eLearning to clients, so our only platform for sharing content with clients is our company's website. I hope someone can direct me to the right information.
Hi Katherine. You just need to read the instructions that are embedded inside the TestPage.html file. I did this a while back and renamed the TestPage.html file to be embedded.html and used that to launch the course.
I have now migrated to Squarespace 6. Your previous screenr was extremely helpful. However the new version (surprisingly) has less features - including no ability to upload to a directory.
They suggested a workaround of using Google Drive or Dropbox.
I have no idea to proceed. Please help

Hi Dennis,
I just signed up for a trial of Squarespace and then figured out how to upload an Articulate presentation to a post. See the screencast in the link below for a step by step guide on this:

I have a question? Could one simply upload the presentation to a server such as dropbox and then copy the html file and put it on a link on a web page?
I just tried an experiment. I made a camtasia folder with multiple files and put it in my Drop Box public folder, then open and right click on the html file and select copy public link. I then open my website created on Weebly and create a button on a page, then copy the drop box link into the address bar and it plays the file fine. I assume it would work the same with Articulate, I just don't have presenter on this computer.
Once you upload your Articulate folder with all the files. Right click on the html file. Then select copy public link (it says something to that effect) then open your web page create the element you want to use as the link and then paste the html info you copied from drop box into that element and publish. That's how I did it.
The links you sent are not valid. When I download them it opens a blank page. One possible problem could be the file name is too long. When you publish your articulate project call it something like html_Test , make sure there are no spaces. Publish for web, put in drop box, copy html.

Sorry- cant help
That is alright Dennis - just throwing it out there (in several conversations actually) - hopefully someone can clear it up for me
Hi Katherine. You just need to read the instructions that are embedded inside the TestPage.html file. I did this a while back and renamed the TestPage.html file to be embedded.html and used that to launch the course.

Hi - I did that - but the text in the testpage.html appears with the presentation...sorry, I am probably missing a step or two...
Here are instructions on how to upload your content to the web.
I have a question? Could one simply upload the presentation to a server such as dropbox and then copy the html file and put it on a link on a web page?
Thanks
Greg
GREG - Yes I can put it in Dropbox, but I don't know how to get it to show on Squarespace.
The output is not the same files as Articulate , so I don't know what to do exactly...:(
Thx
Dennis
Hi dennis,
I just tried an experiment. I made a camtasia folder with multiple files and put it in my Drop Box public folder, then open and right click on the html file and select copy public link. Hope that helps

My Storyline output is attached above.
Obviously I can't upload it as a zip file, but when I unpack it, there are several files and folders.
Squarespace allows you to insert a link (e.g to a video) and it 'resolves' itself to embed the video.
Which link - of the dozens in the folder - must be inserted into my website?
Previously I had to edit an .html file and it all worked... as you suggested.
Simply inserting the public link of the dropbox folder does not seem to do the trick for me.
Appreciate your ongoing assistance
Thanks
Sorry Dennis but I'm not familiar with Storyline but a html link should be able to be embedded into a web page. I'm not sure where the problem is.
Greg
Thanks
PLEASE HELP ANYONE
I have created the screenr to show what I need to do: https://player.vimeo.com/video/204933578
I have attached the OUTPUT files again.
Presumably I have to keep the Output Files in Dropbox and upload just ONE 'trigger' file/ link and embed that on my Squarespace site.
I just don't know which one - and what editing needs to happen for it to work.
Much appreciated
Dennis,
Once you upload your Articulate folder with all the files. Right click on the html file. I have tried various of the output (html and flash).
https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D6401063_1873237_6864479
https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D6401063_1873237_6864477
I always get the same message that the URL is not valid.
I have tried dropbox and sugarsync also
I have treied various elements (link/embed)
I have tried to copy th whole html source code too.
Sorry
Hi Dennis,
The links you sent are not valid. When I download them it opens a blank page. One possible problem could be the file name is too long. When you publish your articulate project call it something like html_Test , make sure there are no spaces. Publish for web, put in drop box, copy html.
Here is a link to my test folder, try this.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/99204733/html%20test/html%20test.html
Gregory
(Thanks again)
But can you tell me which of the multiple html files I should pick (from attached folder?)
Thanks
Right, when you look under type, it says html, 4 kb in size.
Greg
This is the content of the folder attached previously:
I can't see which one you are referring to - sorry
:
I see your problem, you have multiple html files, so I would start with the first one, see if that works, if not try the next and so on.
Did that - several time with all them
