Hello, am going to be exhibiting several Articulate courses on a Mac at an upcoming expo and do not want to rely solely on the expo's wifi to stream my courses. I would like to have CD copies to play on the Mac as backup in case the wifi is too slow or unresponsive.
I know Articulate is not Mac compatible but is there any way I can achieve what I am looking to do here?
autorun does not work in os x from a ISO 9660 CD-ROM the users can run the cd by selecting the player.html file, but they some functionality may be disabled because of flash security
I would try to stick with the wifi if at all possible. Remember that once you view a presentation, it's cached on your computer so give it a once through, prior to things getting busy so you know that the preso is cached on your machine.
That way you can avoid using a CD which should probably be your emergency backup plan.
I haven't tried this but it may be worth a shot. There are portable versions of Firefox available (even for mac) which you install on a USB stick. I have used Portable Firefox for some time but never on a machine without flash. According to the FAQs on the page you can install Firefox, Flash (and other plugins) right on a USB stick. What about using a USB stick loaded with the Mac version of Portable Firefox? You might want to test it out before you go on someone else's Mac but it might be worth a shot too.
Windows version (with instructions for getting plugins like Flash):

A mac user would need to manually adjust their Flash Player security settings to allow certain things to work like attachments:

Phil, your suggestion worked for what I need and I will use this. Thank You!
Justin, I did not know that, once viewed, a course is cached, so that will help me immensely!
Leah, I will look into your idea with a firefox plug-in. This could definitely be useful for me in the future.
Thanks fr your help, guys!
