Published file not working after a few slides.

Feb 25, 2014

Hi guys!

I just encountered a new problem using Articulate Presenter.

I tried publishing my 55 slide course. The published course worked well until I reached slide 18. The course hangs after slide 17. I couldn't even click the back arrow or the navigation panel. I tried restarting the course and I tried skipping slide 18 using the navigation panel but the same thing happens, the course still hangs.

The slide 18 onwards are just simple slides with simple content and audio just like the first few slides.

Now, why is it that my course is working at the first few slides then does not after slide 18? Have you guys encountered this same problem?

Any answer or solution is a big help!

Hi Gian!

Have you tried re-publishing the file?

If you still experience an issue, you could try to re-use slides in a new file:

  1. Open a new, blank presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Go to the Home tab, click the drop-down arrow beside New Slide, and choose Reuse Slides.
  3. In the Reuse Slides panel, click the Browse button and choose Browse File.
  4. Browse to your original PowerPoint file and click Open.
  5. At the bottom of the Reuse Slides panel, mark the box to Keep source formatting.
  6. Right-click the first slide in the Reuse Slides panel and select Insert All Slides.
  7. Save the new presentation and republish.

Note: Articulate resources, such as audio and video, will need to be inserted again into the new presentation. You may need to export the narration from your original presentation, then import it into the new presentation.

Hi Leslie,

I have an old deck that I had to convert it to a new deck. What I did before was to copy and paste the content. So, someone told me to recreate the slide from scratch. And it worked! I will try to do your solution and check if that is also doable.

However, I'm still puzzled why that problem occurred when the content of the slides i recreated were just text and image.

Thanks for your reply!

Hi Gain,

I am glad you got a solution.

For other's who read this thread and do not get a resolution...  It all depends on which format you are publishing in e.g. LMS, CD, Web etc We ran into issues with publishing for LMS and certain versions/editions of SCORM. For example, if I published in SCORM 2004 3rd edition, it would play fine until the quiz and then "hang" and clunk out. So I published the content in SCORM 2004 2nd edition, it worked flawlessly. It was an LMS issue not necessarily an Articulate issue.

Cheers,
