Publishing attachments in presenter 09

May 24, 2012

I have recently purchase studia 09 and starting to get to grips with it. I have published a project to the web for e-mailing to clients (not published to a website) In the presentation I attached a couple of pdf's.

I have saved the mailed presentation to my hard drive, extracted it and it works fine. However when I clicked to open the attached pdf's it didn't display.

An error message says I can't view this as it is not on a website and was given the followingb link -http://kb.articulate.com/kb/000669.php - can any one help?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your speedy reply. In fact I have been at the conference with your colleague Tom today in Leeds UK. I was so excited at the info shared that I rushed home and couldn't wait to get started!

I am sorry to be a pain but all I want to do is e-mail the saved zipped file to clients for them to open from their hard drive - once saved and obviously access the attachments.

I don't want to necessarily publish to a CD.

Does this make sense?

I am very much a novice but I promise a quick learner.

Kind Regards

Martin

Awesome! Tom is an expert of making us all look good

So with your project, you've already published it successfully to your Web server. Is that right? If so, in order to view the attachments properly, you would want to open your project through your browser with a valid HTTP address, rather than viewing it locally from your computer. That's the same address you can then email to your clients for them to view online.

It basically all comes down to publishing your course for the environment you plan on viewing it in.

The article I linked to above also troubleshoots issues that may arise with pop-up blockers, security software and other issues which may prevent the attachments from opening.

Let me know if that makes sense, or if we should rewind a bit.
