publishing error : bullets missing

Aug 14, 2014

The published output for some my files that have the same background have bullets missing. Random slides are published with no bullets. I tried recreating the master slide, but did not work. I opened a new ppt and copy and pasted the info, still it did not work. Instead of copying the content, I typed some of the info and when I previewed it, it published with bullets. Is there any short-cut solution to this rather than having to type the info again?

Hi Rachel,

I apologize, but I'm not sure I understand where the bullets are missing from and how the background contributes to this. Could you share a bit more information about the set up you have and where you're seeing this odd behavior (such as what version of Presenter you're using 09 vs. 13, where you're hosting the course, etc.). It may help to also share some screen shots here or other elements of your course that will help us see the issue you're describing.

Thanks!

Hi Rachel,

I have the same problem here and it seems to be always with the third level bullet. I've already ask for help with this on this thread and I got no answer yet.

I just come up against this issue with my HTML5 output. Neither solution offered in this article worked for my situation. The z-rotation of 0.1 degrees solution did not work for me because it did not allow me to animate in my bullet points. And it's not an option to remove the apostrophes. Not my content to mess with. So I did a universal find and replace of the "Right single quotation mark" (U+2019) and used the vertical apostrophe (U+0027) and this fixed my issue. I hope this helps someone out there.

Hi Alyssa,

I'm using Articulate Studio 13 and have installed the latest update (9). The error has been occurring for the last 2 updates and not just on my machine but on all the content developer's laptops also. It does seem to occur when the text is animated but I don't think it is solely when there are special characters in the text.

Thanks, Seona

Hi Seona, so sorry this is plaguing you. Do you have a sample published file that shows missing bullets when you haven't used special characters? I've tried recreating that on my end, but I haven't had any luck so far.

Also, we're finding that the bullets are missing in HTML5, but they appear normally in Flash. Have you tried testing the Flash output to see if there's a difference?

Lastly, it looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email! No worries, this Peek video will show you how to remove it. :)

The same thing happened to me one year ago and now it is happening again as I update the presentation. I looked at all the threads/articles/work-arounds last year, and couldn't figure it out. (Fortunately the design of the presentation isn't crucial so I just added an extra space between lines on the random slides that would publish without bullets.) I'm not sure if it provides any additional information, but the bullets do appear when I try the Preview. I don't have any apostrophes.

I'm fine if I can't get it to work again, but I will package and send it again in case it helps your crew get to the bottom of it.
