Publishing gets stuck at quiz

Feb 28, 2011

I'm trying to test some hyperlinks (faux triggers) in my presentation. The presentation previews okay, but when I actually publish it, it gets stuck at a quiz after the first 2 powerpoint slides (long before the slides I actually wanted to test).

I never had this issue before, not sure what's going on.

Hi Rebecca & welcome to Heroes,

If you are publishing and the publishing wizard becomes unresponsive please review the following article which outlines suggestions to resolve your issue:

If you have Avast antivirus installed, the publishing process may not complete. For more details on this issue, please see:

Hi, I'm back. After trying different things you suggested, what ended up solving the problem was opening up a blank presentation and
"reusing slides" to recreate the powerpoint again.

Now, the exact same thing has happened on a new presentation. I published it and when I go to view it, it runs up to the slide where I have the first quiz and it gets stuck and won't go any further.

Is there some suggestion as to what I can do besides rebuild each of my powerpoints from now on? This doesn't seem like a long-term fix to whatever is going on!

Thanks.

Hi Rebecca,

I would suggest you submit a case by following the steps below.

Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09 which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so we can follow up with you in the forums.

Are you publishing to a  server?  I had the same problem and found out I was publishing "too deep" in the folders.  It was causing the file extension of my quizmaker files to be too long, preventing the Quizmaker files from launching.  The circle would just continue to spin and never launch.

When I published to a location that was only a folder or two deep, it worked fine.

May be worth a try if you have the same issue.
