Publishing Multiple Presentations to CD

Aug 10, 2012

I'm trying to publish 3 presentations to a single CD.

I'm having trouble writing it right to the disc so I'll publish them to My Documents.  I'll move not the single folder but the folder's contents (data, player, Launch_Presentation, autorun, etc).  Moving the single folder with all of the contents in it didn't work because the computer could not read the folder.  When I tried to move a second set of contents to the CD, I ran into the issue of having files with the same name.  After changing the names of the files (data01, player01, data02, player02, etc), I burned the disc.  Unfortunately, the computer couldn't read anything properly.  I assume it needs the names the way they are so it can reference the specific files.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?  Thanks!

In my folder "My Articulate Projects," I have 2 folders called "Dive Safety Manual" and "Introduction."  Each of those folders have several files within them.  If I try to publish these 2 main folders directly to a CD, my computer will not read them.  Instead, I've had to open the folder and take the contents (2 folders named "data" and "player" and 4 files called "autorun," "loader," "player," and "Launch Presentation") and put those to the disc.  Therefore I'm unable to drop "Dive Safety Manual" and "Introduction" directly onto the CD.

Have I done something wrong here?

If you publish them to completely seperate folders there is no need to rename the filenames

You cannot get it to autorun all 4 presentations, you could build a html page that autoruns and loads the presentations, you will gt a security warning when trying to do this.

Moving the files around will break the structure and will not play correctly

I too am trying to write 5 diff presentations to a DVD. I have copied all the published CD files in seperate folders. I changed the data and player folders to M1_data and M1_player folders (M2_, M3_, M4_, M5_) but keeping the launch_presentation and playter html as is.

When testing the DVD, I can play module 1 but the other four wont run.

Any advice.

I think the first couple times, there must have been something wrong that was somehow resolved.  As the others had suggested, I opened up "My Articulate Projects" and copied the folders containing each presentation (mine were called "Diving Safety Manual" and "Introduction" in my example from my last post) over to the blank CD.  When the CD was put into the computer, I was able to open and navigate through the folders.  I could open the folder "Introduction" for instance, and then click on "Launch_Presentation" or "player" and it would run.

My understanding is that the program needs to call on certain files by name.  The coding probably has the specific file names written into it so if you rename anything, it won't be able to find the right files and thus won't run properly.  I don't know if this is true, but this is how I justify it.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks Robbie. I got it to work eventually.  From a display persepective you still get all the extra files sitting inside the folder and you have to let the user know to click on the launch_presenetion.exe file to run it.  Would be good to be able to seperate this exe file and have it displaying on the CD at the open level (not sitting under a folder).  Anyone tried this?  Note that i am trying to put 5 different presentaitons on the one cd.  Cherie
