Publishing with a survey

Feb 19, 2013

Help!

I am trying to publish a presentation with normal powerpoint slides and 4 survey likert scale questions and it will not publish.

I have checked the tracking, as I want it to track slide completion not quiz completion (although supposedly with a survey that is not possible anyway)

I get no feedback or information, just a blank screen when i view the publsihed presentation.

Please explain!?

Thanks

Ruth

Good morning Ruth,

I'm a little confused, you stated that the presentation won't publish, but that the content doesn't display when you view the published content. Is the content just missing from the published output?

How are you viewing the published course? Are you viewing it locally, or after uploading to a web server or LMS? If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:

Hi Christine,

My apologies, what I mean is that it publishes successfully, but when I click on view presentation the screen is blank. There is not even the loading bar.

When I remove the survey questions I can publish and view the presentation - no worries. I tried just including one question but that didnt work either. I make sure that before I publish the presentation with the survey question inserted (likert scale) I ensure the tracking is the number of slides and not the "quiz".

I have published a number of presentations with engage slides and quiz questions in the past with no problems encountered.

However this is the first one where I have used a likert scale survey question. Is there a particular issue with this style or a certain parameter that I have to tick or untick to ensure it publishes successfully?

Thanks

Ruth

Good morning Ruth,

Thanks very much for the additional information. There shouldn't be any additional restrictions with that type of survey. Again, though, have you tried publishing to a web server or LMS, or are you viewing this locally? It's starting to sounds like it may be an issue with either viewing, or the file itself. If you've published and uploaded the content to a web server or LMS and the presentation or survey is still showing up as blank, we may want to take a look at the files to see what's happening.
