Help, record narration was working fine. Now, for some of my screens, I can't play the audio already recorded- it just doesn't play. And when I hit Start Recording to re-record, it doesn't record and keeps going back to Start Recording-doesn't go to the recording status.
I closed and opened again. I also restarted computer. Any ideas?- of course this presentation is due at the end of the day...
First, can you please confirm you're working with local project files?
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

If the problem still exists, please try creating a new presentation. Does the same thing happen in the new file if you try to record or play recorded audio?
Well- I went through your instructions, and duh--- right clicking on the speaker to bring up the recording devices told me that the microphone was working but not plugged in. I plugged and unplugged from the computer, and just realized that the cord to the back of the microphone was hanging, and not plugged in (I'm using a Blue snowball and you can't see the back plug unless you turn it around). So I pushed it in and it miraculously works. Thanks so much.

Hi there Julie,
Fantastic! Very happy to hear it's working for you now :)
If you run into any other trouble, just holler.
Have a great day,
