recording on multiple slides

So, I am wanting to record voice for multiple slides and it is actually recording, however it won't show the next slide or animation when I tell it to. It records as if I am going to the next slide or animation, but the slides and animations do not show. It did for a while, but now it isn't. About 30minutes to an hour later, I decide to play with it and it works beautifully, but then not long later, it goes back to not working properly. I am so confused and frustrated. I did it how it showed to do it in the tutorial, so what 's wrong? (I don't know if it matters, but I am using the trial version.)

And sorry for the trouble. There's no difference between the trial and full versions, so that shouldn't be an issue. Just to confirm, under Presentation Options > Other > Recording > "Record narration for one slide at a time", is unchecked, correct?
And if you're using PowerPoint 2007, this may be the issue.

I have PowerPoint 2007. That might be why. It works sometimes, but not always.
