Reporting for quizzes?

Apr 22, 2020

Hi there!
I use Presenter (or studio 360?) to create videos with narration.
I am very interested in using a quiz at the end to grade their knowledge and obtain feedback about the video.

Few questions I had:

1- Is it possible to ask an employee's name for reporting purposes?

2- Is there any reporting whatsoever that can show a manager which questions were answered incorrectly for the graded questions?

3- Is there any way to get reporting for the responses given for the Survey questions?

4- Outside of Studio 360 using the Quizmaker, is there any other way to quiz after a video using Articulate?

I can understand how complex it would be (where to send survey results, etc) so was very curious what options I had.

Thank you for your help :)

Hello Stephanie!

This type of interaction can definitely be built so I'll answer your questions one by one to get you started!

Can you ask an employee's name at the beginning of a quiz?

  • Absolutely but it might be easiest to track this on the Results Slide or in an LMS! First, are you using a Learning Management System (LMS) or are you asking the learners to print their results? If you're using an LMS then their name will be tracked in the report so this wouldn't be crucial.
  • If you're asking learners to print or send their results, then I'd use this Results Slide feature to make sure a learner's name is on their results.

For questions 2 & 3, a Learning Management System will track this information!

Without using Studio 360 is there a way to quiz after a video?

  • I'm not sure I fully understand the question. You can add videos on a blank slide in Quizmaker and then add quiz questions before or after. If you're asking about another program, then I would recommend checking out Storyline 360 to add videos and quizzes.

Please let me know if I'm off base!

Hi Lauren, thank you so much for your response!

So just to confirm, we'd have to register or get a LMS program, such as Scorm? I'm not familiar with this at all, so just confirming that this isn't something included within Articulate?

I'm assuming that through this LMS, you would create a database of managers and which employees report to them, so that they get the results?

Appreciate the video, thank you :)

Hi Stephanie,

Happy to help clarify some of these questions regarding an LMS (Learning Management System).

An LMS is simply a tool that allows you to distribute e-learning courses to your learners and track their activity, such as responses to graded questions and survey questions. You can also run reports for managers on how their employees scored. It's separate from our Articulate 360 software that's solely for creating courses.

Since we don't recommend any specific LMSs, I wanted to provide you with some discussions where our community members have offered their suggestions.

Hopefully these can get you started as you begin your search. Keep in mind, while there are free LMSs available which offer certain features for free, they may require payment for additional options or users. It's always good to ask them the same questions you asked here on all your requirements before deciding!
