I've attached the image, and I'll post the PowerPoint w/3 slides and the masters in a second post (tried putting them in this post together, but it seems to only want one or the other). I published the small file to see if I got the same result. I did.
Hi arleen that is strange does the same on my machine, to fix it right click the image and save as a picture and then right click the image again and change the picture with the version you just saved
Thanks for posting the picture and PPTx file. I have not been able to replicate your issue on this end. Everything works on this end. Saving and reinserting as Phil suggested may be the best solution for now.

Looks like an interesting issue. Is there a way you could send the image or a couple of the PPT slides? I would love to try and replicate that issue.
Also, how are you inserting the picture onto the Master? Background fill, just inserting the pic, etc.?

Here's the PowerPoint. To answer your last question, I just inserted the image and dragged it larger to fill the slide.
