How do you stop the audio on a slide starting from the beginning again if paused midway? Hit pause, audio stops as expected - hit to resume play and the audio goes back to the beginning but the animations continue thus losing synch. Very annoying! Any ideas? Not encountered it before.
I'm happy to help! Hitting the pause button in the player should pause both audio and slide animations. Then, hitting the play button should resume both the audio and animations where they left off. The audio should not restart from the beginning.
Are you seeing this problem happen when you preview your Presentation, or after you've published it? Also, what version of Presenter are you using?
It seems to be occurring after being published and I've checked previous published ones again and it is doing it on those too! We can't re-publish and overwrite all of our presentations as they are part of an on-going 12 month programme (plus that causes its own issues with some students only accessing the older versions - not everyone is able to empty browser caches for various reasons)
We are using Studio' 13, therefore Presenter ' 13
Any ideas? Could it be remnant glitch from the last update to Presenter?
Good to know, Michaela. Strange that it happens in all of those browsers. Would you be willing to send us an example file that is giving you trouble? I'd like our team to test it in Articulate Online in various browsers.
Thanks for reaching out and following up on this conversation.
I took a look at the support case that Michaela worked on with our team, but it looks like we did not get the resolution verified, so I do not have any information to share with you.
I'd like to start new with you here Corey:
What version of Presenter are you using?
How are you publishing and testing the content?
Is it happening in a particular viewing environment/browser?
If you could share your Articulate Package, that would be helpful as well. If you cannot share it here in the forums, please feel free to share here privately.
Corey - in addition to what Leslie asks, I had discovered an issue yesterday with HTML5 output of the latest version of Studio '13 (update 10) where clicking the seekbar restarted the audio from the beginning rather than jumping to that point in the audio timeline. Let us know if that matches you!
Leslie: Presenter '13 update 10 Publishing to a local folder, tested locally in Chrome, Firefox and IE on Windows 10. Same problem if I upload the files to our Sakai-based LMS.
Thanks for confirming that, Corey. Let's see if we can figure out a workaround...
Presenter '13 output will default to the Flash version by default. If your learners use either Internet Explorer or Firefox, they'll see the Flash output. If Flash Player is enabled in their instance of Chrome, they'll also see the Flash output. That's one option.
The other option is to make the seekbar read-only, which would be somewhat restrictive. This approach would at least prevent any errant clicks on the seekbar that restart all of the audio.
I'll keep this discussion updated with any changes to this issue, in the meantime!
Unfortunately making the seekbar read-only would only fix half the problem, as hitting pause and then resume also restarts the slide's audio. Would it be possible for me to get the Studio '13 Update 9 installer? I'd be happy working with the old version until there's a fix.
clicking the seekbar in HTML5 output, the audio starts from the beginning rather than syncing to that point in the timeline.
Hitting pause and then resume also restarts the slide's audio

We released an update to Studio '13 today to fix the issue where pausing and resuming a slide or clicking anywhere on the seekbar caused audio to start over. As a result of that issue, animations were no longer in sync with narration.

Thanks for those details, Michaela. Now I have a few more questions to help me narrow this down! 🙂
Hi Alyssa,
They are published to Articulate Online LMS. We test them in several browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge!

Click here to send us the Articulate Package. We'll give it a test and let you know what we find!
Hi Alyssa,
Uploaded package to support team. Let's hope they can unravel the mystery!
Thanks
Was there a solution to this? I have the same problem.

Hey Corey,
I see that you reached out to our support team as well and Rowie is taking a look, so thank you and you should be hearing back soon.
Thanks, Leslie!
Has this been resolved yet? We're having the same issue.
Hi Taylor,
The issue of the audio restarting is still an open issue with our team for Studio '13 and viewing HTML5 output.
Is this what you are experiencing as well?
We do have this conversation attached so that we can pop in and update you when we can.
