"Rewind" an Inserted Video

I am using Presenter to insert a video (mp4) into my e-learning course. Is there a way to give the learner control to rewind the video? The forward and backward player controls just bring the learner to the beginning of the slide, which is the beginning of the video. I would like them to be able to simply rewind if they happened to miss the last sentence. I thought they might be able to click and drag the seekbar control in order to rewind, but that isn't working either. Thank you very much!

Hi Meggy and welcome to E-learning Heroes!
Replay buttons are easy using hyperlinks and hidden slides. Check out Tom's demo on creating a replay button.
Let us know if you have any questions setting this up.
Thank you for your quick response, David. But unfortunately, that is not what I am trying to do. I don't want to replay the slide. Instead I have an mp4 video inserted on the slide, and I want the learner to be able to move backward in the video itself. If the video is 10 minutes long and they are 9 minutes into it, but they missed the last minute or so because they were taking notes, I want them to be able to rewind to the last two minutes, not have to start the video over again. A replay button (at least as I understand it) will take them back to the beginning of the slide, which would be the beginning of the video. I thought they might be able to click and drag the seekbar to rewind the video, but that wasn't working for me, and I didn't have the slide locked. I hope that helps to explain what I am looking to do. Thank you!
Hi Meggy, that makes sense. You can synchronize your inserted video to the player's seekbar. When you first insert the video (Articulate > Insert > Flash Movie) use the Synchronize slide and movie option. That option is selected by default, so your videos should sync with your player.
You'll need to enable the seekbar in your player templates.
Thank you, David. I know "Synchronize slide and movie" was the setting I had chosen, and I did enable the seekbar in my player template. However, it didn't work correctly when I published it. I will look at it again and maybe try re-publishing. Actually the seekbar looked different than usual. Instead of saying "Slide 1 of 10" it only showed "1 10." Maybe something just isn't quite right in my player template. I'll try again.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Meggy,
If you're seeing the "1 10" it probably means you have a missing a text label or a missing font. Can you verify that all text label for Seekbar: Of is displaying correctly?
The text label was missing. Thank you!
Unfortunately, it is still not letting me actually rewind, though. I do have the slide and movie synchronized, and I have the seekbar enabled, but when I try to click and drag the seekbar, nothing happens. The navigation is set as free, and the slide isn't locked. I'm not sure what else to do. I appreciate all your help.
Did you insert the video from the Articulate tab? What kind of video file is it (.mp4, flv or .swf)?
Yes, I inserted it from the Articulate tab, using the Flash Movie link. It is a .mp4.
Hi Meggy!
It sounds like you may have a corrupt player template. Can you see if you can replicate the issue with the Corporate Communications player template?
Hi Peter!
It works perfectly with the Corporate Communications player template, so it must be the template I'm using. I will create a new player template. Thanks so much for all your help Peter and David!
Happy Holidays,

Happy holidays to you, too! Let us know if you run into any other issues.
Actually, I just had to deal with this issue and followed your instructions. There was one thing missing. I don't think Meggy's player was corrupt, but she probably hadn't selected (enabled) "Allow user to seek within seekbar" in the Miscellaneous section under Player Controls. That fixed it for me.
Thanks for the input, I.D.
