Is it possible to publish an Articulate that people will view locally without the IE security warning? I'm delivering a sales tool that they take on the road with them, so it has to run locally and not off a server. The IE security warning is a near deal-breaker with my customer.
Hey, Peter. That works great! Only one bug--when I click an attachment I still get the IE security warning. I thought maybe I would just have to remove the from the attach.html that opens the secondary window but that code doesn't appear in the attach.html file. So I'm getting closer!
Hi Scott. When you publish for CD, make sure you are launching your presentation via the Launch_presentation.exe file and attachments should work fine.
I published for CD and run the course via the Launch_Presentation.exe but the popup IE window still shows the security warning. I'm attaching a WMV file.
That's probably why. If it was a different file type, that probably wouldn't happen. Why not convert the WMV to FLV using the Video Encoder and then add it to your presentation rather than having it as a WMV movie?
Are there any other video codecs you can use? If you have a video editing application like Camtasia you should be able to import the WMV and convert it to a format like AVI or MP4 and still maintain the quality.
Beyond that, I've found a couple of different free video conversion utilities on the web. One I've had some success with is WinFF. It's not necessarily the most intuitive application, and you have to feel comfortable watching the program execute in a DOS command prompt on your desktop, but it does a good job as well.

Try publishing for CD instead of for the Web if you're planning to run it locally.

Because the quality of the video is really poor after converting to Flash with the Video Encoder.

Thanks for sharing that information Chris!
