Scorm File Error

Aug 24, 2016

I am trying to load an Articulate presentation to our LMS. The LMS told me to convert the Articulate file into a Scorm file, which I did by publishing to LMS. The file would not load into the LMS and the LMS folks sent me this email:

1) The structure of the file is incorrect which is why you are unable to successfully upload the file. When authoring the SCORM, all the files need to be located in the root folder, and not compressed from an existing folder.

2) There are some missing elements inside the SCORM which will still cause an error when launched.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Good Afternoon, Bernadette!

As your LMS folks mentioned, it's likely that the SCORM output wasn't properly zipped. An LMS won't be able to find the imsmanfiest.xml file for a course if it's not at the root level of the zip file. To correct this, do either of the following:

  1. Use the built-in Zip feature on the Publish Successful dialog (instead of manually zipping your published output yourself) after you've published your Articulate content. It'll automatically create a well-formed zip file.
  2. If you manually zip the output files, make sure to only zip the contents of the output folder, not the folder itself.

Please let us know if you need anything else, and have a great day!
