screen shifts to the right when adding annotations
May 24, 2012
Hello out there. This is my first post and i am hoping that someone can offer a solution.
Whenever i click on Add Annotations, Narration , Sync Animation; Presenter shifts approx 2-3 inches to the right. For adding Narraton or syncing Animation this is not an issue however it poses a problem with adding Annotations. It seems like the active area of the screen that allows the annotations to be added is moved and off centre from my actual slide. Therefore, the screen capture i am trying to spotlight is not in the workable area.
I contacted Articulate and was advsied to 'hide' the language bar from Control Panel (
http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=2369) but that did not resolve the issue.
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have a solution.
Much appreciated.

Welcome to Heroes, Sean! Sorry for the trouble with annotations. I see you've already submitted a case and it has now been escalated to Jonathan. I'll continue to keep an eye on your case and follow up with you here in the forums once a solution is reached. Welcome again!
thanks Peter! I look forward to sharpening my skills and sharing my learning.
I played around with some display settings this morning and have resolved the issue. Thanks.
That's great, Sean! Glad to hear it. What did the trick?
It was a sizing setting under Display in My Computer that makes font and icons larger. Silly little change that complicated so much. thanks for checking in.
Hi Sean,
Interesting. I have the same issue but only intermittently - to fix I close down Synch Animations then reopen, sometime takes a couple of attempts. I just checked my font and icon setting in Display and it's normal. I've not worried too much about it in the past as it does fix itself eventually. I'll try the 'hide language bar' fix next time and see what happens.
Cheers,
Sarah.
Hello, I am having a similar problem. I have turned off the language bar and it doesn't help, and I'm not quite sure what you're referring to when you say Display settings... could you outline this in specific detail? I am using windows XP.
Thanks!
PS I describe my full problem here, would appreciate any help.
Hi Ryan. If the issue is related to your DPI settings, this article should help you out.
Hi Justin, I checked the DPI and it was already set to 96. No dice. Will update the other thread as well.
Hey Ryan,
Sorry for the trouble. I'd recommend submitting a case at this point, and our support team will be happy to work with you to get this resolved. Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:
Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help
Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Thanks!
Hey Ryan,
I had my Display set to Larger in XP (other options are Medium and Smaller (defailt)). When i changed it back to Smaller this fixed the issue and i have not experienced it again. Go to Control Panel > Display and check the display settings - set to Smaller. Let me know if this worked for you.

Thanks Sean. I double checked all the display settings but this didn't fix the problem.
I have submitted a case now so hopefully that will resolve it!
