Screen sits too long after animations (playlist used)
Aug 03, 2011
Hi all,
I have two screens in the beginning of my course that include all "after previous" animations set on a delay. I've been using a playlist in the background for these two screens, with each screen playing for less than a one minute each.
The first round of building screens & publishing went great. Since then, we added a few seconds to the end of the playlist audio, reinserted it, and now both Screen 1 and Screen 2 are playing for over 4 minutes! (The animations run through in the exact same timing, but then they sit for 3 minutes before the screen moves on.) I went into Audio Editor to see if there was "time" I could delete, but there's really nothing to delete, it looks fine. I don't understand where all this extra time came from, and can't seem to get rid of it.
One thing to note: The new length of each screen seems strangely similar to the length of the playlist.
Any thoughts as to how this happened and solutions?
Thanks!
Jen

Hi Jen & welcome to Heroes,
Can you reproduce the issue when you actually publish the presentation or does it only occur when you preview? Please try publishing the presentation in full & see if that gets rid of the issue.
Hi Brian, thanks for posting. Yup, it happens in BOTH preview and the full-on publish.
Hi Jen. Did you add the playlist via Slide Properties or did you at some time import the audio you are using for your playlist into those slides? I would suggest copying the objects from those slides and placing them on new slides. Delete the old slides and add the playlist by following the steps outlined here:

Hi Justin,
That must have been what happened...we removed the objects and placed them into a new screen, and then added the playlist again, and it worked. Thanks for the tips everybody!
Jen
