Seekbar Issues - When an Egage has a SWF video on the last section

Apr 27, 2012

C an anyone help?

Seekbar Issues - When an Egage slide has a SWF video on the last section, the seekbar seems to be frozen at a few seconds before the completion. Essentially - it never reaches the end and the 'II" never becomes the blinking ">"

The SWF was created in Captivate. Could this be the root of the issue?

Thanks!

Not to worry Peter.

The issue was the video file type and how Captivate 3 publishes it. Typically the video's metadata will include the timing (duration of the video) information. In captivate 3 - the output is a swf nested in a main swf. Because I discarded the 'Main.swf' I discarded the metadata with it. Engage could then not calculate the duration of the video and the seekbar got 'stuck' before completing.

I switched the video out for a high quality MP4 (metadata included) exported from Captivate 5.5 and it solved my issue. I could also convert the MP4 to SWF and it works fine now.

Thanks for your attention and quick reply.
