Size of Presenter window in LMS delivery?

Aug 16, 2011

We're having a client issue with a number of courses recently published in Presenter '09.  After launching from their LMS, the client is unable to maximize the course window to fill their screen (which they would like to be able to do).  When launching from our review website (just running player.html, no SCORM communication) they can do this just fine.

The LMS people insist that there is nothing they're doing to control/prevent this from their end.  None of the Presenter window size settings seem to have any effect (e.g., they can maximize the window when running from a non-SCORM site, cannot do so when the same course is published for SCORM with no other publish settings changed).

Has anyone else encountered this, and/or have any insight what might be going on?  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Brian - I am hoping that you might be checking in on this one with a new update.

You had asked whether this was launching in a new window or in a frame.  What if it were in a frame?  My LMS support has asked that I decrease the size just a bit so it fits into the frame within the LMS.  Is there any controls to make that happen?

Good Afternoon, Brent.

You can toggle viewing modes in published content by using the Change view mode button in published Presenter '09 content, but I don't think that's exactly what you're looking for.

If you would like to adjust how a presentation is launched, including the size of the presentation, please see the Browser Window Settings section here.

You cannot customize the published output to a specific dimension. If you would like to see this feature, please submit a feature request.

Hello again, Brent.

The optimal size of a published Articulate Presenter course is 980px by 640px, and this can be configured to scale to fill the browser window.

If you set Presentation Size to "Scale presentation to fill browser window (default)," the presentation should automatically scale for a web browser--both up and down.  It's hard to say exactly what this setting will do in your LMS frame, but if it is currently too large using the "lock" option, I would recommend switching to the "scale" option.

It is true to say that you cannot customize the published output to a specific dimension.

Please let us know if you need anything else.  Thanks!
