Has Articulate had any discussions about giving us the option to end a slide either by sound or animation. Presenter 09 was by animation and I did not have to worry about adding additional silence for the animation to complete. Some of us import our voice over and then animate. I am constantly checking to see if I need to add additional silence in the sound file to allow an animation to complete. It's very time consuming.
There is a tutorial on slide properties, and the following information is included:
Tip: The duration of each slide is controlled by its audio, video, and/or animations. Slides that don't include any audio, video, or animations default to the number of seconds specified in Presenter Options.
Are you adding audio and syncing animations as shown here?
I have 1 to 2 seconds of silence after the voice ends. Some courses have animations that continue beyond the end of the voice over file. An example would be a text box rises up and the voice over reads the text box. When the voice ends, I may have the text box exit or fade out. In presenter 09 the animation would continue until it was completely done. With Presenter 13 the animation stops at the end of the 1 to 2 seconds of silence in the voice over file. If the animation is not complete then it just freezes in what stat it's in when the end of the voice over file is reached.
Another example is the voice over reads the final text box and I may have it flash slowly 3 or 4 times. Once the end of the voice over file is reached, the flashing stops in whatever state it's in.
Yes I know the solution would be to add silence, but it takes time to figure out how much silence to add. It also takes time to figure which slides in the 60+ courses fall in this situation. Going forward, I have to mark any slide that the animation will, or has the potential, to run beyond the voice over file, then add 1 to 2 seconds at a time until I have it just right.
