Slide Properties 'Locked' not working

Nov 11, 2012

Hi

I have 'Locked' some of my PowerPoint slides through Slide Properties.  My understanding is that this locks the navigation Next/Back buttons and forces the user to interact with the content on the slide.  In my case I have two hyperlinks on the slide for the user to choose from.

When I publish my presentation the slides is not locked and navigation is still available.

What do I need to do to get the Locked setting to work?

Hi Michele,

Yes, the locked option will disable navigation for the user, they'll have to interact with the hyperlinks you provided in the slide to continue. Be sure you're following the steps outlined in this tutorial

Can you post a screenshot of your current slide properties, or your course files? I'd be happy to take a look, if you'd like. If you don't feel comfortable posting them to the public, you're welcome to send me a private message.

After many different publishes and trial and errors I worked out that the Player Template I was using did not always recognise the locking feature in the Slide Properties. This was a free Player Template I had downloaded from this site!

Many hours wasted trying to resolve the issue, however it was an easy fix of chaning to a standard skin based on the Corporate Communications Player Template.  Then all of a sudden everythig worked.
