Slide Properties Not "Sticking"
Oct 14, 2011
Whenever I change the Navigation Titles (slide titles) and Level under Slide Properties, they don't stick. Or sometimes a few of them stick but not all of them. I don't understand why this is happening, but I've spent a lot of time trying to get everything just so only to have it revert back to the default. Very frustrating, especially since this happens with every course I create. Can anyone explain how to get my changes to stick the first time around? Thanks in advance.

I always use the default slide title inside the PowerPoint to title my slides. And I have never had problems with the titles. In case you dont want the default slide title shown in your course, you can move the slide title outside the slide area. This way you will still have the title in the Navigation tab.
Thanks, but I've already built my course and have included custom titles throughout it. Since I'm at the end of my development process, can anyone else suggest something that would help me? Thanks.
Hi Laura,
Can you send us a project file that has this issue and we can take a look for you:

Hi Laura,
This has happened to me as well. I don't know if your issue is the same as mine was but here is what I found. When changing the name of the slide I found I needed to hit the enter key. If I don't hit enter, the change won't stick. I hope this easy fix works for you.
I guess it really isn't a fix so to speak as much as a "fix the user" error.......

When you change your slide title, click somewhere else, press Tab, etc.. If you leave your cursor inside the title field you've just edited and select Save, Slide Properties often does not save it. Quirky, but not the worst thing I've encountered; just need to remember.
Hi all
I found the answer to Laura's question in the comment section of this post: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/courses/renaming-slide-titles.aspx
Oh wow, I totally forgot about this. I've been using Storyline for over a year now. Good to know, though, as I need to update some older Presenter courses.
