I've got some slides without any animations on them that when they are displayed, show and count down 20 seconds in the seekbar. I have set the slides without animations setting to "1" second... I had it at 5 seconds previously, and that didn't work either.

I would create a new slide and copy everything to the new slide and delete the old slide. See if that works.
