Slide slow to load for video

Jun 19, 2012

Hi There

I'm having a problem with parts of a Presenter presentation taking an age to load and appear. I have embedded a video into a presentation sequence and the rest of it loads ok, but when it gets to this slide, takes an age to load.

It is supposed to look like this

In other cases where I've had the backgroud of the slide in the Master slide , it will load without the Background and only appear after a while.

Can you please tell me how to get these to load as intended.

Best regards

Keith

Hey Keith!

Unfortunately, I'm not able to see your screenshots with any of my browsers, so I'm not really sure what the issue is. If you're having trouble getting a video to play though, you may want to check out our KB on best practices for FLV and SWF video in Presenter. If you're experiencing a slow-loading MP4, it's possible the video's formatting can be fixed.

Feel free to give us some additional details and we'll be happy to help. Thanks!

Hi There

Peter thanks for your response, I'll check out the links asap.

Here's another attempt to try and illustrate my issue.

I'm having a problem with parts of a Presenter presentation taking an age to load and appear. I have embedded a FLV video into a presentation sequence. The rest of the presentation loads ok, but when it gets to this slide, takes an age to load.

In this instance I didn't use the Master slides to create the slide backgrounds because in earlier projects when I used the master slides for the backgrounds it would load without the background images. Eventually they wouold appear, but not for some while. They would look like this:

When they were supposed to look like this:

I hope this calrifies my problem.

Hi Keith!

Would you be able to send us your files so we can test it out on our end? Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

Hi Peter

Thanks again for you rapid response.

I should point out that this only happens when accessing the Presenter packages via the Moodle 1.9 LMS that the package is uploaded to as part of a Polytechnic eLearning course. If I play it from my own computer it plays fine.

I'll follow up with the upload to Articulate Support with all the relevant details.

Many thanks

Keith

Hi Keith!

Did you ever end up opening a ticket on this? I'm not seeing any record of one. If you did, do you have a case number so I can follow up on it for you?

One thing you may want to look into, if it's only happening on your LMS, is to load your course using SCORM Cloud. If the course plays properly SCORM Cloud, it would hint that the issue may be your LMS.
