Slides don't advance in Sync feature

Jan 25, 2012

Issue: When I go into sync, starting with slide 1, I sync the animation and then click to go to slide 2. However, the slide does not advance. I can see the notes for the second slide on the right side, and the advance, stop, play buttons at the top, but the large window that should be showing me the slide I am working on, and the animations when they appear, shows in incorrect slide. If I open Sync while on another slide, it shows that one but using to forward and back buttons to change the slide I am working on in the Sync area, the slide won't change from the one first displayed.

I am using PowerPoint 2010 (32 bit version) with WIndows 7 Enterprise (64 bit). I did not have this problem with my Windows XP machine. I am running Articulate Presenter 9 version Studio 9 Update 8.

The problems that have been ocurring with Articulate ever since updating my PC with Windows 7 and Office 2010 have been very frustrating.

Hey Dennis,

Really sorry to hear about the frustrations. My recommendation would be to upload your files for our support engineers to take a close look at, and I'd also mention any other issues you're experiencing. They'd be happy to work with you in pinpointing any problems and helping you find solutions. If you'd like to do that, please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. Thanks!

I'll do that but I am pretty sure the problem is not with the files but between Presenter and Win7/PowerPoint 2010. I went over to another PC in the office running Windows XP and PowerPoint 2007 and had no problem with the Sync feature.

I also uninstalled Articulate Studio 09 from my Windows 7 PC and then re-installed including update 8. The problem still occurs.

It does sound as if the issues you've been experiencing could be related to the installation of Office. I would certainly mention that to the support staff, and they will be able to assist you with a repair installation if they deem it necessary. If you'd rather not upload your files and would prefer to simply submit a case, you're of course welcome to that instead:
