Some Links Not Working When Published
Mar 16, 2011
Greetings,
I've been pulling my hair out over this one: I have an image of a device for which I'm building training for staff. It is on a master slide. Over several of the buttons I have placed shapes with transparent fills and colored outlines then added links. Several of the shapes link fine after publishing. However, several (always the same ones) do not. After trying and publishing well over a dozen different variations (group, ungroup, bring forward, bring to front, etc.) I finally realized that all the problem shapes were custom, either predefined shapes I'd edited the points on or freeform from the start). So I converted those to .png images and linked those instead. Voila! Apparently, Presenter can't preserve the links in the custom shapes.

I've experienced a similar problem when using the "no fill" option under the shape format. Using a coloured fill set to 100% transparency works.
Jade,
Thanks for your response. I did use filled shapes at 100% transparency on all the shapes. Just beware that custom-made shapes will not retain their links when publishing the Presenter package.

Hi Allen
I had this issue with a custom shape, I set it to 99% and it worked
