Sound Help within Articulate

May 09, 2011

Hello,

I am a graduate student finishing up my Master's in Educational Technology, and have been working on creating an E-Learning tutorial in Articulate over the past couple of weeks.  I am having incredible difficulty with the sound files.  My first run through of recordings published, but now I am going back through and editing the voice overs.  Each slide has an individual sound  file, and when I have tried to delete the old file and insert the new one, the old one still is playing when I preview it in Ariticulate.  Now I'm not sure if this is an Articulate or Powerpoint question...does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Thank you so much,

Ashley Manning

Hi Ashley,

I'm guessing that there is a read/write issue with where your files are located. Here's how I would try to get things working.

  1. Create a folder C:\Articulate.
  2. Create a Presenter package and choose the location to save your Zip file as C:\Articulate.
  3. Quit PowerPoint.
  4. Unzip the file in C:\Articulate by right clicking it and selecting Extract. This should create a new folder in C:\Articulate that contains all of the assets you need to work on your presentation.
  5. Open the PowerPoint file there and see if you can duplicate your issue.
