Specifications for Videos to be embedded into Articulate Presente

Sep 14, 2011

Hello,

Please help with the below questions:

1)      What is the recommended or total max size of video that can incorporated into the Articulate zip file and then uploaded into LMS to ensure smooth playing?

2)      If the max size of video is 20MB, and I have 5 different videos, each with size around 20MB, can I create 5 different articulate zip files with each video into separate packages to be uploaded into LMS as separate modules respectively?

3)      What other specs that the video to be incorporated, has to meet, like the parameters in the Articulate Video Encoder encoding settings :-

Thanks.

Hi Maaz & welcome to Heroes:

Please see my answers below:

1)      What is the recommended or total max size of video that can incorporated into the Articulate zip file and then uploaded into LMS to ensure smooth playing?

This completely depends upon the internet connection of your end-users.  If your end-users are on dialup, then you won't want to incorporate 20MB videos into your presentation.  So, there's no "limit" other than the internet speed capabilities of your end-users.

2)      If the max size of video is 20MB, and I have 5 different videos, each with size around 20MB, can I create 5 different articulate zip files with each video into separate packages to be uploaded into LMS as separate modules respectively?

There's not a "max" video size.  However, you can certainly create 5 separate presentations and publish them separately into your LMS.

3)      What other specs that the video to be incorporated, has to meet, like the parameters in the Articulate Video Encoder encoding settings?

The settings are completely up to you based upon the quality of the video that you want to see.
