square rounded rectangles

Aug 05, 2015

Articulate Presenter used to have an issue with rounded rectangles publishing as square.  This was corrected during some past release.  But since I downloaded the latest update, this problem is back.

Also, when Presenter notifies me that there is an update available, the link that is displayed is wrong and has been for 3 years now.

Hi Alison,

It sounds like you're referring to this fix here?  If you have a file that was created using an update since that one where the behavior persists, we'll want to take a look at the Presenter package and how it's behaving.

Also, can you tell me what the link is that you're seeing vs. the correct link to download Presenter updates here?  I haven't run into an issue with the updates and do typically download based on the prompt when opening up each product.

Hi Ashley,

Is it based on when the pptx file was created or on when I publish it in Presenter?  Would an old ppt file cause this problem?

I'm sorry, I can't show you the link because it only pops up when Articulate is notifying me that an update is available, but year after year, I click on the link and it says "Oops, it looks like that page doesn't exist."

Hi Alison,

If the Powerpoint file was created and published prior to that update, than it may not be working as expected. If you've created files in a more recent update that exhibit that behavior then we would want to take a look.

Were you able to use the link I shared for the Presenter updates? Have you looked at clearing out the cache associated with the browser it's opening in? Perhaps it's pulling up an older link for you and not redirecting?

You're lumping creating and publishing.  I took an old ppt file, converted it to a pptx and made changes to the content, and published it in Presenter '13.  I could pull all of the slides into a new pptx file, but then I'd have to resync everything, right?

Your link takes me to Download Studio, which takes me to the install shield wizard, asking me if I want to add/remove, or reinstall.  I clear my cache on a regular basis.

Hi Alison,

Creating and publishing should all occur on the local drive, and if you're publishing a file you've opened it so that would also be considered a part of the creation/editing process - so they are generally lumped together for that reason. Anytime you are working within a file such as adding slide content, changing player settings or choosing how and where to publish - those are all needing to be done locally and the features/issues of the current update are applied.

That link sounds as if it's working - if you choose to download it and run the update, you'll see those options and using the "Reinstall" option will allow you to work with the latest update.
