Hi Nelinda!

Did you import your audio? Have a look here for a few ways to ensure you get the best possible sound:

http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=547

If you continue to experience issues with your audio, please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server so our support engineers can take a closer look. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. Thanks!

Hello,

I am new to articulate presenter and i'm having the same issue as what was posted by Nelinda more than a year ago. I have re-saved and re-saved the audio files as .wav, 16bit, 44khz etc. I have downloaded audacity and exported the files using your instructions per the video and yet I am still having the same issue when I go and preview the files. What I'm I doing wrong, please help - this is so frustrating. The first time I previewed it after saving per ur instructions it worked but when I played it the 2nd, 3rd, etc the scractchy noise as come up again. I am using PPT 2010, Windows 7 and Presenter '09 or rather the studio package. Thanks

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Ejidayo!

Sorry to hear you've run into this problem. The first thing I would suggest is to check the location of your presentation files. Are all of the files for the project on your local hard drive?

1.  Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.

2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

3.  Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365247(VS.85).aspx

If the problem continues, please share your project files using the links that Peter provided earlier. We'd be happy to take a look and see what may be causing this.

Thanks!

Good morning,

@Ejidayo - Sounds good! Hopefully that'll work out. If it doesn't, please let us know.

@Anna - If you've confirmed the files are local and you're still experiencing this issue with static, can you share the project with us, so we can test the audio file (Ejidayo, you're welcome to do this too, if you still have trouble with your audio)? You'll be able to upload the presentation files using the information Peter provided, or you can simply share the original audio file(s).

Thanks!

Eric Richardson

I found that there can be 4 causes for the static:

1) The audio file is in the wrong format http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=547

2) The extension is too long http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365247

3) The audio file needs to be in the same folder as your presentation

4) After you fix those and it still doesn't work you have to delete the existing slide (not presentation) where the audio file is.  Create a new slide and re-insert the the correct audio slide following steps 1-3 which you all ready did.
